This painting is the portrait of Diego Rivera, husband of Frida Kahlo and a famous Mexican muralist. This portrait was painted when Diego was fifty-one years old but he appears much younger in this painting. Also, this portrait has Diego much thinner because in life has tall and heavy. One reason for this is because when this portrait was painted Diego just got released from the hospital when he was treated for kidney problems and also eye infection.
